Kim Taylor is a very knowledgeable and personable Pilates instructor. She has been my instructor for over a year and a half and I have completely redefined my body for the good. I have always done aerobic exercise and have had my share of injuries especially my back and neck but, with combining Kim’s pilates with aerobic exercise, I have had absolutely no injuries and I have found that my aerobic activities are better because of the pilates training. Kim has shown me that you don’t need the “burn” to increase your strength and your control over your body. I highly recommend Kim to everyone but particularly to women who have a bad body image and who are timid about exercise. Kim will fit a personal program to you. I want to add that am 65 years old, have lost weight doing pilates and am in the best shape I have ever been in my life.

I am fairly athletic and strong - and I do quite a bit of cardio work daily. I run about four to eight 10k/half marathons each year. I've always wanted to try pilates and decided that private lessons would benefit me because I had never done it before. The group class I took did not help because I felt I was monopolizing the instructors time, and there were 8 - 10 others in the class who obviously knew much more than I did. I also realize that form and proper instruction are paramount in learning and getting the most out of pilates. I also just turned 59.
Kim is the absolute best instructor I could have found. She really explains the movements very well and is constantly giving me cues as to what I should be focusing on. This made it very easy for me to remember that I have to keep my neck in a certain position, or to concentrate on my glutes when doing a particular movement.
Because of a pre-existing hip/leg issue that I have, she modified some of the exercises for me and helped me understand better how I could benefit from certain exercises/movements. She even helped my 'running' gait and as a result, my 10ks and half marathons have gotten easier for me to run. I realize the importance of developing and maintaining my core, and my arms have toned considerably!
Kim is very professional, knows exactly what she is doing, and makes the sessions enjoyable and fun. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn pilates. And her new studio is so peaceful and serene, I hate leaving there!
